Sand casting is a centuries old technique to cast metal. Making this ring involved placing the stones within the casting material, then pouring the molten sterling silver quickly into the mould. Depending on the strength of placement and how quickly the gold is poured, the stones may stay in place but often move around, making each piece individually unique.
